Caroline Pearce (born 1 September 1981) is an English athlete, sports model and was one of the Gladiators in Sky One's version of Gladiators.
Pearce competed for England in the World Pentathlon championships at the age of 15.[1] She had competed as a professional heptathlete in the 2004 European Heptathlon Finals. Pearce has also represented Great Britain as a bobsleigher in the 2005 World Bobsleigh Championships.[2] Pearce also has a first class honours degree in Sports Science and a Masters degree in Physiology and Nutrition from Loughborough University. As a model, Pearce has modelled for Nike, Reebok, Adidas, Ron Hill and Fitness-Mad. She has also modeled for photographer Michael Palmer.[2] Following her departure from 'Gladiators', she did a photoshoot for 'Fight Factory' magazine.[3]
In 2008, Pearce was chosen to compete as a Gladiator in Sky One's relaunch of the TV Series Gladiators under the Gladiator name "Ice",[4] but she left the show after the first season.
Pearce is five foot eight, weighs 9 stone 3 lbs ",[4] has size ten feet and green eyes. She cites her childhood heroes as Denise Lewis and Diane Youdale.[1]
Pearce also appeared on The Friday Night Project as the Coat of Cash wearing Celebrity.[5]
Caroline Pearce is a former International athlete, sports model, TV presenter, author and fitness and nutrition expert.
She competed for Great Britain in the heptathlon, long jump and bobsleigh, taking part in the European Cup for athletics in 2004 and World Bobsleigh Championships in 2005. With a first class honours degree in Sports Science and Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition, both from Loughborough University, Caroline has used her academic background to educate and motivate thousands of people in the areas of training and nutrition. Caroline writes for Ultra Fit Magazine, BodyFit Magazine, Famously Fit online and is currently authoring her first book on female training for the World renowned publishers Human Kinetics.
Caroline is also the face and education spokesperson for Power Plate International, the leading acceleration training machine, delivering their training and education programmes to trainers, medics and government divisions worldwide. This role has seen her train sports stars, celebrities and royalty and present DVDs and shows for at home training.
She has been one of the UKs top fitness and sports models for the last ten years, representing brands addidas, Nike, Reebok and many more for photographic, commercial and catwalk shows.
Caroline was chosen as one of the all new Gladiators in 2008 and appeared in the re-launch of the highly successful sports-entertainment show ‘Gladiators’ on Sky 1 playing the character ‘Ice’, a name based on her winter sports experience and white blonde hair.
Following Gladiators Caroline has been in high demand as a fitness expert and presenter. She has presented several infomercials for US television, is the Fitness presenter for QVC shopping channel and demonstrates home based workouts on Fitness TV.
Most recently Caroline has turned her attention to the sports arena and has been the female face of the Worlds Strongest Man competition series, presenting shows for Bravo TV and Eurosport and now The Worlds Strongest Man 2011 for Channel 5.
